I need my ears syringing but find Delapre Medical Centre no longer does this procedure, I have been using drops for weeks but they don't help so am I to live the rest of my life deaf or perhaps its time to look for a surgery who can offer what I need. Have tried and failed to book an appointment to see a doctor to discuss. Do I have to go to A&E and take up valuable time there for the sake of a minor problem? Very frustrated by this surgery for the sake of a ten minute procedure which would resolve my deafness.

Nightmare to get an appointment. The online booking system is great if you can stay up until midnight. The phone is useless as by the time you can call I am already at work, and I cannot take a call back later in the day as I am working, if I had managed to get through on my break. I cannot just take a day off on the hope that I can get an appointment.

While the care given is very good, it is now extremely difficult to get an appointment. I don't know what has happened to the online booking system which I previously found fantastic: now there are never any appointments available online, and getting an appointment on the phone is a nightmare and assumes that you are in a position to sit glued to a phone for ages. The triage system seems to work ok for emergency care, but booking appointments for non-urgent (but important) matters, often because the doctor has said that they want to see you again, is close on impossible. I suspect that changes in government funding may be to root of this problem as it has never before been this difficult (& I have used this surgery for over 30 years!), but it needs to improve.

Arrived at Whitefields today for a pre arranged blood check - was checked in at reception and then left to sit for 40 minutes before I enquired as to the reason for the delay. Good job I did as I was informed that the nurse was on leave and I should have had my appointment cancelled. Not good enough

It should not be a requirement to give medical information to the receptionist when they answer the phone call. They are not medically trained. When a referral is sent to the practice from a fellow medical worker the information should not take over 8 days to process onto the patients file so when they phone the GP the GP does not refuse to see them on the matter as their file has not been updated - the patient is not a mind reader and can not tell when their records have been updated. Also when in pain they do need action not a fobbing off. It is impossible to make follow up appointments with the same GP if a quick reference is needed in relation to the condition. A chat over the phone is not always the best approach to discovering what some conditions are, some patients need to be seen for an assessment and a nurse is not always the best policy. To have to attend through a minor problem to get seen for the more important one and the nurse passing you through when you have tried to make an appointment with the GP - is this the best policy?. It should also be possible to discuss more than one problem with a GP rather than make separate appointments as this is more time consuming for all. When a locumn looks for medical records one would assume that they would be available on line so they can best assess the situation not be telling the patient that they seem to be missing - this does NOT inspire confidence in the practice. I could say more but feel that there are already a number of factors that should be addressed here already.
